I am a public health school nurse. I don't have an "office" to keep everything in since I cover multiple schools. I have everything in my trunk. This includes a rolling crate, laptop, medical bag and lunch box. I had been on my own in the high school a few weeks when I was called to an emergency. I had just entered the school with my "office" in tow, and had to run across campus to the emergency. On my way over, adrenaline pumping, I was doing a mental check to make sure I had everything I needed...gloves, stethescope... I reached for my medical bag to get gloves and realized I had my lunch box on my shoulder, NOT my medical bag. Luckily the student was better when I arrived and I didn't have to confess my mistake. Weeks later, when I could talk about it, my co-workers found it hilarious!

I went into business with two co-workers after our jobs were downsized. We collectively did the foot work and put in all our own money to buy what we needed individually. We arranged a dinner for our spouses and ourselves where we laid out our intentions . At the time we had no extra money to draw up a formal business agreement and ended the evening on a "gentleman's handshake" to be equal partners. A year and a half later it was clear to me that neither of my "partners" wanted to do serious work; 85 % of the revenue was coming in from my efforts. I decided to split and asked to see all the financial records to make sure I was getting an equitable buy-out. The other two "partners" then claimed they were the founding members to the corporation and I had no rights to any of the information or the value of the company for a buy out. Bye-bye year and a half and a whole lot of $$$$

There is a MD at the hospital where I work whose wife is his physcian's assistant. At the time, I was in nursing school and one of my classmates saw the two of them go into an empty room while we were in clinical. "I wonder if they're having an affair?" she said. We all started laughing and then had to explain that they were already married!

I work in Gastroenterology, so you know that we look alot of butts. I had this young one day come in and we where going to have to do a rectal exam on him, well usually I tell the patient to lay on the bed and pull there pants and underwear below the rectal area and I cover them while they are doing this to give them some privacy......... He was standing at the end of the bed and I was explaining everything to him and getting the cover up and other things out of the cabinet well when I turned around I got the surpise of my life he was standing at the end of the bed with his pants to his ankle with his front side facing me and when I noticed what was going on I took the cover and put it in front of my face and screamed....... I was like you can lay down and I will cover you up...... That was a day in Gastroenterology.......
Thanks

When I was in nursing school, I took care of a man who had a massive stroke. He was getting severely depressed so I devoted all my time to this guy. I gave him all my attention and catered to his every need. The staff warned me he had given up on life and not to feel bad it he didn\'t respond.
As my shift was ending, I was cleaning his room. I had a water pitcher in one hand and a basin in my other hand. The rooms were small. As I was trying to squeeze by his bed, my top got hung on something. All of the buttons popped open and there I was: boobs and all flashing over this man\'s bed. I slowly put down the stuff in my hands and began to button my shirt. I wasn\'t really embarrassed until I saw him smile. As I was getting ready to leave he mumbled very lowly, \"Have a good day.\" I let the staff know what it had taken to make this man respond.
I now work on a stroke floor as a registered nurse and I think about this incident very frequently. Also, I do not wear tops that button anymore.

One day went to the bathroom on a regular working day...did the usual, enter the restroom, did my business, buttoned up, washed my hands and left the restroom. I then proceeded to go make my coffee and took advantage of the fact that I was near the copy machine to check for any incoming faxes; on the way back to my desk I saw my ex-boss coming for a meeting, gave my greeting and kept going on my way. I heard some small talk in the background, but thought nothing of it. UNTILL I went to sit down at my desk and felt my bottom come in contact with the chair, instead of my skirt. I looked back and saw I had been walking around with my underwear peeking out from under my skirt because the skirt stayed up after I finished my business in the bathroom! Boy was I embarrassed!! Needless to say I did not get up for the rest of the day (even left late).

About 20 yewars ago, I was an EMT for a Private ambulance service. We were asked to go to a local hospital to transport an older lady home. My partner and I entered the ladies' hospital room and began to "package" her up for the ride home. It was the middle of winter so I was wearing a winter uniform which had pockets in the front where I kept my pens and such. When I squatted down to lift up the stetcher (I was positioned at the ladies head), my pens caught the patients' wig, and as I stood up the wig was pulled off her head. Unfortunately, I was unaware of this and began pushing the patient down the hall. It was only when I noticed my partner laughing so hard , that she could hardly breathe ( and also that the patient saying that her head seemed cold) that I realized what I had done. Just try to gracefully explain your way out of that one!

I am a Medical Sales Rep. It was a late morning call. As the Dr turned to face me. I noticed his zipper was down. I pointed and let him know. He shook his head while looking at his nurse and said. "I cannot believe you did not let me know, how long has it been down?" She responded while rolling her eyes. "Trust me, I have no idea, that is the last place I am looking."

When I was pregnant with my first son I had awful "morning" sickness throughout the whole day. Any food smell sent me over the edge, literally, of the toilet, often during a treatment session with a patient, unfortunately. At the time, our hospital was making budget cut-backs by only collecting the garbage in our clinic 2 days of the week, thus, someone's lunch leftovers often got left overnight in the garbage can in our clinic. The smell of the rotten leftovers was overwhelmingly sickening to me. One day, a patient was waiting in the treatment room for me, and I opened the door only to be sickened by a "rotten lunch" left in the garbage can. I quickly picked up the garbage can and ran to the toilet, leaving my patient in wonderment. I calmly and "cheerfully" came back in the treatment room and asked, "What can I do for you today?" She must have seen the color drained out of the my face, for she said sympathetically, "Oh you poor thing. It's a bad day for you isn't it?"

My 15 year old son recently had an emergency appendectomy. The surgeon visited, then said he could be discharged and that he would write out the prescriptions. The RN prepared us for discharge and handed me the scrips. I said, "This isn't my son's last name." She said, "Well, now we have to wait for him to come back. He has been very busy today."
That's the story..but at that point, we felt like just another number!
